**Job Summary:**
The Patient Registration Representative (PRR) plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service to patients. The PRR focuses on ensuring patient satisfaction, providing necessary information, and supporting patients with a respectful and inclusive approach. This role involves administrative tasks to facilitate efficient patient care delivery.
**Responsibilities:**
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of Health Information Records by entering and retrieving information using Electronic Medical Record systems.
- Schedule appointments, conduct pre-registration duties, verify demographic and insurance details, and fulfill tasks essential for precise claims billing.
- Recognize situations necessitating clinical healthcare staff intervention.
- Manage patient and information flow while strictly adhering to patient confidentiality regulations such as Federal HIPAA laws.
- Collaborate within the patient care team, deliver Care Coordination services, and actively engage in Quality Improvement and Assurance initiatives as necessary.
- Process Prior Authorizations, Referrals, and furnish specialist resource information.
- Record and maintain patient data accurately.
- Participate in requisite meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- At least one (1) year of experience providing high-level customer service in a healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Preferred: Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Preferred: Three (3) years of experience in high-level customer service.
- Preferred: Three (3) years of relevant healthcare experience.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
**Physical Requirements:**
This position involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. It might create substantial job-related stress. Occasionally, evening and/or weekend work may be necessary. The role could also require lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to ten pounds.
