Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and administrative support within the dental office. They are responsible for ensuring patient satisfaction and care by effectively communicating with patients, managing appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate records. The PSR is committed to treating patients with respect and confidentiality while adhering to HIPAA laws.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain the integrity of the Health Information Record by accurately inputting and retrieving information into the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Schedule appointments, complete pre-registration tasks, and verify demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate billing.
- Coordinate patient and information flow, maintaining patient confidentiality and discerning when triage by clinical healthcare staff is needed.
- Participate as a member of a patient care team, providing Care Coordination services and contributing to Quality Improvement and Assurance activities.
- Complete prior authorizations, referrals, and provide specialist resource information.
- Track and log patient information.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- At least one year of experience delivering customer service at a high level.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy.
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree in a related field.
- Preferred: Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology.
- Preferred: Three years of experience delivering customer service at a high level.
- Preferred: Three years of relevant healthcare experience.
- Preferred: Proficient in using an Electronic Medical Record system.

Physical Requirements:
The position requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. There may be significant job stress associated with the position. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. The position may involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to ten pounds.
