Provides primary healthcare to a select group of patients; focusing on wellness promotion and illness prevention, and managing acute minor and stable chronic illness, in collaboration with the Physician in accordance with education and state laws.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises and provides clinical direction to the clinical staff including RNs, LPNs and Medical Assistants.
Adheres to all CHCB’s clinical policies and procedures, including infection control principles and confidentiality.
Assesses physical and psycho-social health status through medical history and physical examination.
Orders and interpret laboratory tests.
Triages, diagnoses and treats illness and physical conditions within the specialty area of practice.
Performs therapeutic and corrective measures including prescribing medication and provides preventive health maintenance and education.
Teaches and counsel patients, families and groups.
Adheres to the conditions specified in the Nurse Practitioner Practice Agreement.
Participates in quality improvement activities.
Complies with all the guidelines set by the collaborating physician in accordance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery.
Performs special assignments as requested.
Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department; maintains, distributes, analyzes and protects information for required records, reports and statistics as directed.
Directs, instructs and evaluates nurse practitioner students assigned to CHCB.
Participates in and contributes to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities and functions as needed.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned or requested.
Physical Demands: Requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Significant job stress may be associated with the position. Evening work may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner license registration certificate for the state of New York. Master of Science degree in Nursing. National certification in specialty area. Computer literacy. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner license registration certificate for the state of New York. Master of Science degree in Nursing. DEA license registration certificate for the state of New York. National certification in specialty area. Five (5) years’ experience in a outpatient setting. Computer literacy. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Salary: $102k - $115k depending on experience
