Family Medicine Physician

Location: Lockport, NY

The Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. is seeking an experienced Family Medicine Physician to join our mission-driven, well established, growing, state-of-the-art health center in Lockport, NY.  This position offers competitive compensation, benefits and paid time off package, 4 CME days & $1,000 stipend annually, medical student loan repayment eligibility through the National Health Service Corps, paid malpractice insurance and much more.  Will consider H-1B sponsorship.  

Primary Function:

Provides quality healthcare to all patients in accordance with the principle of ethics and code of professional conduct of the medical license board and state laws. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess physical and psycho-social health status through medical history and physical examination.
  • Triage, diagnose and treat medical conditions within the specialty area of practice.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and consultations.
  • Recommend therapeutic measures including prescribing medication and other treatments.
  • Provide education and preventive health care.
  • Provide clinical direction to the Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, RN, LPN and Medical Assistant.
  • Adhere to all CHCB’s clinical policies and procedures, including infection control principles and confidentiality.
  • Assist with triage of administrative questions as appropriate.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Comply with all the guidelines in accordance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery.
  • Participates in and contributes to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities and functions as needed.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Performs special assignments as requested by the CEO/or CMO.        
  • Direct, instruct and evaluate medical students assigned to CHCB.

Minimum Qualifications: Medical license registration certificate for the state of New York. DEA license registration certificate for the state of New York. Computer literacy. Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications: Medical license registration certificate for the state of New York. DEA license registration certificate for the state of New York. American Board Certification. Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification. CFP Authorization Number under NYS Worker’s Compensation. Hospital Privileges. Professional Membership Affiliations. Computer literacy. Proficiency in MS Office
