Administrative Assistant (Dental)

Department: Dental
Location: Buffalo, NY

**Job Summary:**
The Administrative Assistant (Dental) provides crucial administrative support to the Dental department. This position requires the ability to work independently and perform a variety of general clerical and project-based tasks. The ideal candidate will project a professional image through both in-person and over-the-phone interactions.

**Responsibilities:**
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of administration.
- Create and modify documents such as reports, invoices, memos, or letters as directed by the Dental Director or management team.
- Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, faxing, mailings, and filing.
- Answer phones and make appointments.
- Greet dental patients upon arrival.
- Use a computerized patient information system to register patients and perform other clerical procedures.
- Verify patient eligibility using medical insurance websites.
- Follow-up with patients who missed appointments and reschedule when necessary.
- Assist in managing patient flow to ensure timely appointments and proper scheduling.
- Contribute to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities as needed.
- Interact with patients of all ages and varied backgrounds in a supportive and professional manner.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned or requested.
- Ability to work in stressful situations.

**Qualifications:**
- High School diploma.
- At least one (1) year of healthcare office experience.
- Must be independent, flexible, possess personal integrity, and have the ability to work effectively with patients and staff.
- Proficiency with MS Office.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Associates degree.
- Two (2) years of dental office experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Experience working with electronic medical records software.

**Physical Demands:**
This position requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Evening work may be required.

**Hourly Range:** $17.00 - $19.00
