The Community Health Center of Buffalo (CHCB) is seeking a full-time/part-time Dental Assistant to join the team. As a Dental Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a broad range of tasks required to provide dental care to patients under the direction and supervision of a dentist. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma, dental office experience and must be independent, flexible, possess personal integrity, and have the ability to work effectively with patients and staff. NYS registered Dental Assistant is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities include assisting the dentist chair side utilizing the principles of four-handed dentistry, seating and dismissing patients, and maintaining a clean operatory and dental laboratory area with approved disinfectants. The dental assistant must maintain dental equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations, clean and sterilize dental instruments, expose and develop radiographs, and maintain an inventory of dental supplies. Additionally, the dental assistant shall perform clerical duties such as answering the phone and making appointments, and use computerized patient information systems for patient registration and other administrative procedures. The dental assistant will relate to patients of all ages and life situations in a supportive, professional manner.

Physical demands of the job may require periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.

Hourly rate: $18.10 - $21.64 if Certified Dental Assistant
