Dental Assistant

Location: Niagara Falls, NY

The Community Health Center of Niagara, located in Niagara Falls, NY, is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide high quality care to its patients in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

The successful candidate will work closely with the dentist in a variety of tasks that require four-handed dentistry principles. Additionally, they will seat and dismiss patients, maintain the operatory and dental laboratory area with approved disinfectants, maintain dental equipment as per manufacturer's recommendation, clean and sterilize dental instruments, and develop radiographs. The Dental Assistant will also maintain inventory of dental supplies, perform assigned laboratory duties, perform clerical tasks that include answering the phone and making appointments, and use computerized systems to register patients and perform other clerical procedures. Basic equipment maintenance needs to be undertaken, including changing the filter for the suction machine. The role requires the individual to exhibit a supportive and professional demeanor while relating to patients of all ages and life situations. Attendance at staff meetings is required.

The position requires someone with high school diploma and dental office experience; NYS registered dental assistant certification preferred.

The role has two pay levels for registered and uncertified dental assistants, respectively:

Registered Dental Assistant (Salary of $18.10 - $21.64),
Uncertified Dental Assistant (Salary of $17.10 - $20.64).

The candidate must be independent, flexible, possess personal integrity, and have the ability to work effectively with patients and staff.
