Program Manager - Behavioral Health

Job Summary:

The Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to join our team. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of multiple projects within our Behavioral Health Department. The Program Manager must demonstrate competency in adaptability/versatility, planning and organization, initiative, customer service orientation, behavioral health treatment modalities, mental health diagnosis and treatment, technical/professional knowledge of administrative disciplines, oral and written communications, judgment/decision-making, interpersonal effectiveness, individual leadership/influencing, and self-development. Your excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills will be crucial in successfully driving the program's success.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of behavioral programming that promotes the strategic vision and goals of the organization; the integration of systems, and the expansion of operations.
- Assume full responsibility for managing assigned projects, applying quality improvement principles and practices to the management of project performances.
- Coordinate and organize needed resources (employees, material, other support) and multiple activities simultaneously to achieve organizational outcomes.
- Communicate program progress and status to appropriate individuals and organizations.
- Work as a contributing team member on organizational initiatives, programs, projects, and activities; provide input and assist in developing programs.
- May serve as a point of contact, primarily for agencies that the organization works with in Western New York.
- Keep current on behavioral health and health-related issues of importance.
- Assist with the professional development of staff members in various positions (case management, care coordination, mental health counselors), assuring uniformity of job performance, efficiency, and personal development.
- Ability to function as a working liaison for multiple sites using established systems and processes.
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree and at least seven (7) years of experience in behavioral health-related consulting and/or community-based health and human services, as well as three (3) years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a community-based health-related and/or human service organization.
- Must hold New York State Licensure; Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
- Must be articulate in the written and spoken word, formal presentation, and experienced in report writing.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Health Policy, Public Health, Health Services Administration, Public Administration, Social Work, or Human Services preferred.
- At least three (3) years' experience in healthcare, health-related consulting, and/or community-based health and human services.
- An overall commitment to excellence in the quality of work and outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment and with people and organizations of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and cultures.
- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage complex projects. Demonstrated analytical skills, detail orientation, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Track record of creativity, adaptability, personal accountability, initiative, and ability to consider the big picture perspective.
- Current familiarity with the health and human services landscape in western New York.
- Able to function independently in a satellite location as well as be a productive and contributing member of the entire team.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and effectively utilize professional relationships.
- A personal passion for improving the quality of life for all constituents.
- Experience in assuring absolute discretion, caution, and judgment when handling confidential information.

Regular car travel throughout service areas. Valid driver's license and reliable auto with necessary insurance is required. Periodic statewide and national travel required.
