Director of Behavioral Health

Department: Behavioral Health
Location: Buffalo, NY

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Director of Behavioral Health to oversee and lead our team in delivering exceptional mental health support and services to our patients. The Director will be responsible for developing and recommending departmental policies and procedures that comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. They will be involved in formulating and implementing psychosocial service standards, including case management and counseling activities for patients with multiple risk factors.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral science. - License to practice in NY state and NY Professional license number required
  • Five (5) years of counseling and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Well-organized with the ability to demonstrate good judgment in challenging situations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors as necessary.
  • Ensure timely completion of encounters and progress notes for each patient as required by regulations and third-party insurance.
  • Collaborate with Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors on partnerships with external community resources to maintain continuity of patient care.
  • Guide HIV Pre and Post Test counseling, including HIV/AIDS education, partner notification, safer sex, and HIV treatment.
  • Uphold established departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
  • Produce necessary written documentation as per professional and departmental requirements.
  • Manage, distribute, analyze, and safeguard information for mandated records, reports, and statistics.
  • Engage in professional development through conferences, workshops, and seminars related to psychosocial services and patient care.
  • Contribute to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.


Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
